NDT Global launches QUADRA ILI system for pipeline integrity

NDT Global has launched its QUADRA inline inspection system, combining multiple ultra-high-resolution inspection datasets in a single run to identify corrosion, seam anomalies, hard spots and other pipeline integrity threats.

(P&GJ) — NDT Global has launched QUADRA, a new inline inspection (ILI) system that combines multiple inspection technologies in a single run to provide pipeline operators with a more comprehensive view of pipeline condition and integrity threats.

The system combines NDT Global’s ultra-high-resolution (UHR) axial magnetic flux leakage technology with circumferential magnetic flux leakage (C-MFL) and other complementary inspection data. The combined datasets are designed to help identify and assess corrosion, narrow axial features, seam-related anomalies, hard spots and other complex pipeline conditions.

NDT Global said integrating multiple datasets from the same inspection allows operators to evaluate how different threats may interact rather than analyzing individual inspection results separately.

“QUADRA represents an important step in how we think about pipeline inspection,” said Paul Cooper, president of NDT Global. “The future is not about individual inspection technologies operating independently. It is about bringing data together and applying the knowledge we have built through decades of inspection experience and an extensive historical dataset to create better context for integrity decisions.”

QUADRA is built on NDT Global’s UHR Trinity platform and incorporates UHR C-MFL technology. Its modular design allows operators to configure inspection capabilities for specific integrity challenges while collecting complementary datasets during a single pipeline run.

The inspection data can then be aligned, compared and analyzed through NDT Global’s integrated data environment to support pipeline condition assessments and the prioritization of integrity actions.

“Built on our proven UHR Trinity platform and enhanced with UHR C-MFL technology, QUADRA allows operators to tailor inspection capabilities to specific integrity challenges while collecting complementary datasets in a single run,” said Miguel Maldonado, director of MFL product management at NDT Global.

NDT Global said the system is intended to reduce inspection complexity and improve the amount of integrity information collected during each inspection opportunity.

The company will showcase QUADRA at the International Pipeline Conference & Expo (IPCE) 2026 in Calgary.
