Unite union has announced additional strike action at Dounreay power station, with over 500 members employed by Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) set to take 24-hour strike action on 19th June.
This action accompanies the strike scheduled for 29h May.
Unite General Secretary Sharon Graham criticised NRS for its refusal to make a fair pay offer, risking shutdowns at Dounreay.
Energy Live News contacted a spokesperson from NRS regarding the initial strike action announcement.
The spokesperson expressed disappointment but affirmed the company’s commitment to finding a fair and affordable resolution.
They stated that contingency plans were being implemented to maintain safety, security and compliance during any industrial action period.
A spokesperson from NRS told Energy Live News regarding the new industrial action: “We remain committed to finding a resolution that is fair and affordable.
“The site is open and our contingency plans have been implemented to ensure it remains safe, secure and compliant during any period of industrial action.”
