Independent power producer AMPYR Solar Europe said on Thursday that it has acquired a 390-MWp portfolio of solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the UK from local renewables developer Tyler Hill.
The portfolio comprises five grid-secured projects with a pending submission of planning approval papers. AMPYR will develop the assets in partnership with Tyler Hill until they reach the ready-to-build stage, with construction works expected to start in 2024.
The projects are located in Somerset, Worcestershire and County Durham. There is also a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) in Moray, Scotland.
AMPYR has simultaneously started looking for off-takers of the solar power to be produced by the sites through its in-house power purchase agreement (PPA) unit. Discussions with potentially interested parties are already underway.
Following the investment, AMPYR’s development pipeline in the UK now tops 1.8 GWp, while overall, it has about 7 GWp, including projects in Germany and the Netherlands.
