Energy giant E.ON has revealed a surge in its UK sales, with figures showing a rapid increase to nearly £18.1 billion compared to £11 billion the previous year.
In contrast, the European markets have witnessed a slight downturn, with a 1% drop in sales, bringing the total to approximately £44.8 billion for the half-year period.
E.ON’s Chief Executive Officer, Leonhard Birnbaum, expressed optimism about the company’s performance, stating, “After a long period of crisis, we sense that the headwinds for our business are diminishing. We see our markets increasingly recover.”
The energy supplier has revised its expectations for the full year of 2023, now projecting an adjusted EBITDA for the Group ranging between €8.6 billion (£7.4bn) and €8.8 billion (£7.6bn) (previously forecasted: €7.8 billion (£6.7bn) to €8 billion (£6.9bn).
Additionally, the company foresees an adjusted net income spanning from €2.7 billion (£2.3bn) to €2.9 billion (£2.5bn) (previous forecast: €2.3 billion (£1.9bn) to €2.5 billion (£2.1bn).
