Elmya Energy, Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure launch joint venture for 4 GW of solar, wind and storage

Elmya Energy and Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure have announced the formation of Elmantic, a new joint venture to develop 4 GW of utility-scale solar, wind and storage projects in the United States. The Elmya Energy USA team, together with the Atlantica North America team, will spearhead all development activities for the new venture.

“The U.S. stands as one of the largest and most dynamic markets for energy in the world. Our formation of Elmantic during this time of resetting and growth for the U.S. power industry underscores our conviction that renewable energy will continue to play a major role in America’s expanding economy,” said Carlos Piñar, managing director of Elmya.

In the U.S., Elmya Energy will initially focus on greenfield development of renewable energy and battery storage projects in the ERCOT and WECC markets. With offices in Richmond, Virginia, and Austin, Texas, Elmya Energy USA expects to add new team members to support the joint venture in 2025.
