Ofgem is reaching out to stakeholders and the public to gather views on the proposed UK-Norway interconnector project.
The project aims to establish a direct electricity link between Blyth, Northumberland in Britain and Kvilldal in Norway.
The 1.4 GW interconnector, known as the North Sea Link, is a joint venture between National Grid North Sea Link Limited and the Norwegian transmission system operator Statnett.
Ofgem had previously granted the project a cap and floor regime during its Initial Project Assessment stage back in March 2015.
This decision was made based on the anticipated benefits the interconnector would bring to both consumers and the wider UK energy market.
As part of the ongoing post construction review, Ofgem has outlined its preliminary stance on the proposed values for the project’s post construction adjustment terms and the final cap and floor levels.
