So Energy launches new fixed tariff undercutting January price cap

So Energy has introduced a new fixed tariff, So Lily, available to new and existing customers.

This tariff, with an estimated yearly cost for an average household at £1899 (including VAT for dual fuel customers), comes in at approximately £29 less than the January price cap.

Simon Oscroft, Interim Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of So Energy said: “So Energy has been one of the only suppliers this year to offer customers a price cap beating fixed tariff.

“On the day Ofgem announced another price cap increase from 1st January, we have launched a new fixed tariff – So Lily.

“But despite these potential savings, customers are still going to pay more for their energy than last winter and double what people were paying before the crisis hit two years ago.
“Over a year has passed since Jeremy Hunt announced in the 2022 Autumn Statement he would consider a “new approach to consumer protection” from April 2024.
“Time is running out to deliver on this, so we urge the government to publish a consultation on the social tariff without delay. The most vulnerable households need permanent protection, but ensuring it’s targeted at the right customers and delivers meaningful savings will take time to implement ahead of next winter.”
