Surrey residents queue for bottled water amid water cuts

Thousands of residents in Surrey, including Guildford and Godalming, faced water shortages due to issues at a water treatment plant following Storm Ciarán.

Thames Water declared a major incident, impacting over 13,500 homes and more expected to lose water supply later.

The company is working to resolve the problem, distributing bottled water and addressing the issue at Shalford water treatment works.

Jeremy Hunt, MP for South West Surrey, expressed concern and mentioned Thames Water’s efforts to reset and reprogram the control system to restore supply.

Water stations and bottled water distribution points were set up for affected residents.
