Good Energy has maintained its top position for the third consecutive year in the Which? sustainability ranking of energy suppliers.
The company has been awarded the Eco Provider endorsement by the UK’s popular consumer association since the programme’s inception in 2021.
This year, four energy companies have attained the status of Which? Eco Providers for energy: 100Green, Ecotricity, Good Energy and Octopus Energy.
While three of these companies have previously held the title, Octopus Energy is achieving Eco Provider status for the first time this year.
Which? collected data on environmental claims from 17 energy companies, including their practices in purchasing renewable electricity and green gas.
Good Energy received maximum scores in categories such as transparency, renewable power procurement, low carbon technology utilisation, green gas sales, Time of Use and smart export tariffs.
Good Energy chief executive Nigel Pocklington said: “Customers want to know they’re purchasing their power from genuinely renewable sources and avoiding companies which are suspected of greenwashing their environmental credentials.”
